The property itself is situated right on a "blacktop" (paved road) just a few miles from town. We often cycle into "downtown" Mexico, four miles from the house. (We hate to admit it, but there's also a Wal-Mart Supercenter four miles away).
Mexico, Missouri, is well served by Highway 54, which is a four-lane divided highway straight south to Interstate 70 (14 miles south of Mexico), with easy access east (St. Louis) or west (Columbia and Kansas City). Hwy. 54 is two miles from the property.
25 miles north of Mexico is scenic Mark Twain Lake. Hannibal, Missouri (home to Mark Twain) is under 60 miles northeast on the Mississippi River. Jefferson City, the state capitol, is 48 miles south (on the Missouri River), and Lake of the Ozarks is about 90 miles south of Mexico.
